Background
Quadrant Marine Consultancy was set up by Capt. Duncan Mc Kelvie, F.N.I., to provide a variety of services to the shipping industry. His experience and skills coupled with industry knowledge and wide ranging network of contacts world-wide, allows Quadrant to contribute effectively over an extremely broad spectrum of maritime and commercial activities. Superintendents associated with the company are similarly highly experienced and well qualified individuals with many years in ship management and ship repair. |

Captain Duncan Mc Kelvie
Capt. Mc Kelvie is a Master Mariner, Member of the Institute of Quality Assurance and Member of the Institute of Marine Surveyors. Associate fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation and Fellow of the Nautical Institute. He has extensive experience in ship management, ISPS, ISM and ISO (including 14001) preparation and audits, sale and purchase, vetting inspections, port state control preparation, condition surveys and teaching/training. He is based in Dubai. |

Robert Bucior
Robert Bucior, a graduate of Gdynia Merchant Marine Academy with a specialisation in Shipmanagement manages the Polish office. He has a background in vessel management, ship chandlery, ship's agency and crew supply. From his office in Gdynia, Robert arranges and supervises the disposition of the Polish, Ukranian and Russian riding squads and vessel crews and liaises with all customers as required, particularly those in Europe and the Americas. |

Archie Smiley
Archie Smiley, based in Dubai, is a Chartered Marine Engineer, Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers and Member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. Fellow of the Institute of Engineers and Shipbuilders in Scotland, Companion of the Nautical Institute and holds a Diploma in Shipmanagement with specialisation in Technical and Operational management. He is a certified ISM Lead Auditor from Lloyd's Register. He has served on the Technical Committees of both DNV and LRS. With more than 30 years in the marine industry he has extensive experience in all aspects of ship operation and management on a variety of vessel types, including technical operation, sale and purchase, condition surveys, budgeting, drydocking, ship repair and major upgrade, insurance claims, plan approval and newbuilds. |

Gary Hartland
Gary holds a BSc and is an IRCA registered lead auditor. He has a background in operation management in shipowning and managing companies and 8 years with LRS with frequent secondment to LRQA as lead assessor for ISM and ISO systems. He is a specialist in the field of formal documented quality systems. His long list of Nace codes reflect his great breadth of experience. Gary is based in the UK but also works frequently in Canada, the Sub Continent, Middle East and Europe.
Mike Grime
Mike holds a Class 1 Motor and has also sailed as Chief. He has a large experience of work in the offshore oil field internationally. He has also qualified as OIM and of late has been engaged in major steelwork projects, drydockings and conversions in the Far East. Mike is based in the U.K.
Christer Scharf
Christer holds a Swedish degree as Mechanical Engineer and has a vast experience of shipyard practice, both repair and newbuilding. He has recently been engaged in supervision of construction for a series of new buildings in the Far East. Christer is based in Sweden.
James Bolitho
James is the holder of an Australian Class 1 with experience as Chief on Australian and foreign vessels. James has also been seconded for extensive periods as Superintendent to shipping company offices in the US and Canada. He lives in Brazil and is ideally placed for South American and Caribbean work. Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. |
